Daisuke received his BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York. His student portfolio received awards from the Art Director’s Club, Type Director’s Club and Graphis, before landing his first job at Pentagram Design.
At Pentagram, Daisuke had the opportunity to work with a variety of high-profile clients such as Amnesty International, Callaway Golf, Herman Miller, Neiman Marcus and TGI Friday’s. He learned much from working with great designers such as Woody Pirtle, Michael Bierut and Paula Scher. While he was at Pentagram, he was selected as one of New Visual Artists by Print Magazine.
Daisuke joined Flying Machine as Design Director in 2004 soon after Flying Machine took off. At Flying Machine, Daisuke helped numerous branding projects in traditional and emerging media.
Daisuke teaches design and typography at Pratt Institute in New York and at Musashino Art University in Japan. At Musashino Art University, Daisuke has helped develop innovative design courses for both undergraduate and master level students.
His design works were published by numerous publications, such as Graphis, Print Magazine, Creative Review, Communication Arts, Art Director’s Club Annual, Type Director’s Club Annual and AIGA Design Annual.
