Micha Riss

President

 

Micha Riss is the founder and Creative Director of Flying Machine, a New York-based branding and design company. Working within a variety of media Micha and his team have produced award winning results for a broad range of international clientele, including ESPN International, the New York Knicks, the New York Rangers, A&E Television Networks, IFC, Sky Italia, Shop Japan, Starhome, Douglas Elliman and Teva Pharmaceuticals.    

Micha is well known for his work as Creative Director at Manhattan Transfer. In this capacity, Riss oversaw numerous broadcast and commercial projects, for all major networks including MSG, MTV, VH1 CBS, NBC, ABC, Sony USA, HBO, TBS, TNT, Fox Kids and the Sci-Fi Channel. 

Beginning in 1987, Micha art directed and produced numerous on air promotions and show packages for CBS Sports over the course of twelve-years. In 1994, Micha was invited to join the CBS broadcast team at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and was later honored with an Emmy Award for Broadcast Graphics for his work. He had also created packages for numerous NFL seasons, two Super Bowls, the PGA and LPGA, the NBA, Figure Skating, NCAA basketball, March Madness and other college sports such as lacrosse and soccer.   

Micha started his career as a designer for several record labels and leading music publications, and developed the video packaging for the Rolling Stones’ 25th anniversary called “25x5”.

Micha resides in New York, with his wife and two kids. He holds a BFA in Computer Graphics from New York Institute of Technology, and served as an adjunct professor of Television Graphic Design at New York’s School of Visual Arts.
